                                                2011 Field Renovation

                                                Picture
                                                September 9th
Due to a sharp increase in the frequency of on-field injuries the last few years, the new field slated for 2014 was moved up to 2011.  As a result, all teams who rely on the field for fall sports have had to find other places to play.

So, the good news is we get a brand new field for the 2012 season.  The bad news is we will not have any home games this year.  Unforeseen problems, as they commonly do, hindered and dashed the hopes for the field to be ready in time for any football games this season. As a result, we have made arrangements with other schools in the area to allow us to host "home" games on their fields.

Please make sure you check the schedule each week to know where the game is taking place.  We will do our best to provide map links to help everyone get there so we can still be loud and proud for our 2011 Road Warriors.

This type of season will offer many challenges to the teams and their coaches, but we also see the enormous potential for a heroic story about the year we had no home field and still took on every opponent with grit and a commitment to winning.  These boys are giving their best effort to win despite any discouragements, and we as a community have the chance to show up and cheer them on.  They are giving their best.  Let's give them ours.

                                                Going Forward
The plans are to revert to the old construction schedule for peripheral field-level and bleacher improvements after the new field is in place.  Protecting the athletes has given us a new surface years earlier than expected, but the next phase will be to construct new aluminum seating for the amphitheater, followed by new aluminum seating and a field level concessions stand for the stadium.  Fortunately, the plans to anchor the seating to the existing concrete structures should prevent any more loss of home games.
